Game of Thrones (Reminders of Hell)

Now, I will deal with the end of the last episodes of all the four seasons of famous TV series “Game of Thrones”.

Its “introduction” consists of view of a “fiery Sun” with pictures of beasts on its metallic neighborhood, then the view goes down with two “blinks” (such a “jump” of picture can remind the “flicking” of Hellish people) all the way up to the picture of a horny creature (and some circle turns about it).

Here are the ends that contain “reminder of Hell”:

“Game of Thrones”,…

Two Raised Fingers

All sorts of people use a gesture with two raised fingers, but there are circumstances in which this gesture gets a real Hellish meaning. You can read about it in the attached article.

Kraken by China Miéville

Kraken by China Miéville

China Miéville is one of the most interesting writers around, and unlike most modern authors who just drop into a comfortable series groove, he has produced a remarkably varied body of work. The City and The City (reviewed on this blog in March 2012) just blew me away, and is the finest new work categorised as SFF to come my way in many years. I say “categorised as” because I'm not really sure what genre it fits into, but it…

Win Ecko Rising Audiobook

Danie Ware is quite well-known to London geek community, firstly through her work at Forbidden Planet, and more recently as an author. Here is someone who is clearly a fan of sci-fi/fantasy and who has put her knowledge of the genre to good use. Her first novel, Ecko Rising, is something of an anomaly. What starts out as a London-set dystopian, cyber-punk, noir thriller suddenly transmogrifies into a fantasy with centaurs, mythological battles and flying pubs. What initially feels like an author starting with an idea, running out of puff and switching tack, is actually a very clever story device because the whole time we are kept guessing as to whether this fantasy world is, in fact, just that – a fantasy, which is the dilemma our protagonist Ecko is facing. It’s a world that seems “real” enough, and has a strong mythology and history of its own, but with just a bit too much magic for pragmatic, pyromaniac Ecko.

Star Wars: Episode VII

“…the real news comes from the reported scheduling of Morocco and Tunisia for filming locations, both places of which were previously used to shoot desert-planet Tatooine scenes. Chances are, we'll be returning to this planetary home of the Skywalker line in the upcoming movie.”

Good to hear a familiar planet will be in the new SW episode, but let's hope we see some new places, too.

I swear, if…

Star Wars: Episode VIII

Yes, you're reading the title right…. Star Wars movie #8.

A bit of news today is that Rian Johnson, the writer and director of Looper, is set to to take over the core Star Wars movie starting with VIII. Episode VII (#7) is currently in production under the helm of JJ Abrams. JJ Abrams, of course, jumped to Star Wars from Star Trek.

No word yet on JJ Abrams' future with the franchise after VII.

Awalkerbit.me Community Merged With Cool Sci-fi!

Today we have merged our sister site, A Walker Bit Me (AWBM), into Cool Sci-Fi. AWBM started life as a fan forum for the AMC TV series The Walking Dead and eventually morphed into a general horror forum. After more than a year of effort into AWBM it was apparent that the two genre forums, one sci-fi and one horror, would be best served as one community.

With the merger it means that more horror & supernatural topics will be discussed in what has been…
